I took this picture last month with plans to make a confession of another sort. You see, I had recently landed on FM 100, a local soft music station. It's the one we all made fun of as teenagers. It's the one they play in shopping centers and on elevators. Old people music.
And when I found it again last month I discovered that I now know the words to most, if not all, songs they play these days. Does that mean I'm old?
Oh but really that wasn't the confession I came here to make today. I hesitate to even say this knowing that many of my family members read my blog and I'm certain I'll come under fire with lots of disapproving looks and/or comments. But here goes.
deep breath
One November first FM 100 started playing Christmas music. And in my car I listen to it. There. I've said it. I've been singing songs like "Baby It's Cold Outside," with Dean Martin, "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year," with Donny Osmond, "Little Saint Nick," with the Beach Boys and "Frosty the Snowman," with Gene Autry.
And it isn't even Thanksgiving yet. Go ahead, poke fun. Express your disappointment. I can take it. I'm a little disappointed in myself too!
in the mean time, ho, ho, ho!

I used to work in retail and I could not wait to put Christmas out and get moving in that direction, but one thing I found is that after so long of hearing Christmas music, enough is enough! By Christmas, I would just HOPE for the end of that infernal racket!
And, in our area 100.3 is one of my favorite country stations, so what does that say about me? Scary, huh???
I haven't been tempted yet, but WASH radio does the same thing here in the DC area. When I was young, the strains of Bobby Vinton singing my favorite Christmas songs were sometimes heard in late September if the mood hit me! :) I'm sure I drove my parents crazy. But, perhaps not - because mom bought me the out of print album when it was converted to CD a few years ago!
Enjoy! I'll get on the bandwagon soon enough. The only problem I find with our station is we get newer versions of those old songs and I don't like them as well.
Oh my. Still I guess there are worse things to confess to. It's good to get in the mood.
I would be listening to the Christmas music and singing it, too. : )
OH, I don't think it means we're getting old. We're just learning to appreciate "FINE MUSIC" ! ;-)
That said, I've been humming "Oh, Holy Night" and "Let it snow" (my favorite version is by Frank Sinatra) for weeks. I love Christmas music.
I'm very attracted to all the "rat pack" music...but I've always liked Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, and the rest. It just was a cool era.
Since the kids aren't coming home for Christmas this year, we aren't even going to put up a tree. Just call me Scrooge.
HO HO HO!!!!! I LOVE Christmas music!!!
We listen to Christmas music all year. =) Works for me!
I can't believe this! I'm not getting in the car with you again until you stop the madness.... or I might fix the radio so it doesn't tune in this station... ya thats what I'll do... I have a great set of tools and I know how to use them.
dh aka DH
Ack! I've been listening to Christmas music early this year too! What does that mean?!?! I'm usually the no-Christmas-until-after-Thanksgiving police!
(I never put the dh/DH thing together before. Cool!)
I don't think it's wrong. You GO girl!!! LOL It is hard to get in the Christmas mood when it is 90 degrees outside.
Ohhh Marsh. I'm totally ashamed.
this is joey
How could you let us down like this?
On another note, I don't know who your friend Kathleen is, but I was occassionally guilty of listening to WASH FM when we lived in DC. It's exactly like FM 100. I think that it goes well with my awesome long finger hair my wrinkly forehead.
