Caught disobeying

She was supposed to be doing her chores and then homework. But I suppose if I had to pick a form of rebellion, this one would definitely be at the top of the list.

I agree whole heartedly! I have one of those and one of the exact opposite, so far! (Too soon to know what all of the others will be!)

That's our most common - or maybe in the top two - disobedience here, too. The other being playing with toys. Somehow I need to train my children to stay in the real world for awhile.

I say, you go, girl ! Let her read. Just make sure she does her other commitments later. Reading drops off so much as children grow up (other than me)...I think you can encourage it as much as possible !

It's hard to get upset at something like that.

Oh how we know that one at our house. We have found our son in bed with the flashlight, locked in the bathroom, and right out there in the chair with book in hand! I hear too many parents complain their kids won't pick up a book, we should consider ourselves blessed that ours won't put it down! Sandi

Tell her I want to read about Terror at the Zoo when she's done. Very Halloween-ish.

I have caught my girls reading when they should be cleaning their rooms so I know the feeling. Good luck

She's obviously related to her cousins Mimzy and Jay! You should punish her by grounding her to my house.

Anna and Kate are like that. I don't know where they get it from though. LOL

*L* Yes, it's hard to mind the "disobedience" when they are so absorbed in a good book.
