So there really can be a difference between dye lots
As it turns out, there's a reason you ought to check dye lots. Hm. Evidence: these poor booties! I didn't have enough yarn in my first ball to make the mate to this poor top bootie. So off I ran to the craft store to grab another ball. Of course dye lot did not even cross my mind. Fortunately it is just a small bootie so I wasn't out much time. I made two booties from the newer, more white and less cream yarn. The first? Well, perhaps I'll make another bootie out of some other left-over cotton and give them to the girls for their dolls.

Which yarn were you using. I notice a lot of the acrylics I use for baby knits are labeled "No Dye Lot". They almost always match from skein to skein. I wonder how they do that?
Hi Marcia! I am laughing because you found my blog through wool winder. Well, I must confess, I also found you through wool winder and I have lurked your blog but not commented before. ;-D
I answered your question about the afghan pattern in my comments section. What is proper blog etiquette? I never know whether to answer people's questions on my site where it was asked, or to go to their site. Well, I answered it on my site in case other readers want to know.
Anyway, if you are unable to find the pattern and you really want it, I will share it with you. I don't think it would violate any copyright laws. I mean, if you can't find it, then you aren't able to buy it right??
You can leave me another note on my blog or email me. I hesitate to just type in my email address for the evil spammers to pick up, but you can go to my website at www.bluemoonartistry.com and use any of the "contact me" options available to reach me.
LOL - I always fumble with blog etiquette too.
Here is a copy of what I wrote to you at my comments section in response to your reaction that the afghan is crocheted:
"Marcia, I can tell you from experience, this crocheted afghan is so much easier than knitting cables!! If you can knit what I have seen on your blog, you can easily crochet this!"
Oh, and if you want a little long distance help, let me know. You can do it! I know you can!
I would never have thought to look for the dye lots either. huh....
